My daughter who is 8 years old just had Shingles on the right side of her jaw, ear, and head. She has a history of ALL and has been off chemotherapy for 2 years without any problems. During the course of Shingles her lesions became infected and she was treated with IV antibiotics. The infection cleared but it has been 3+ wks and the sores on her head (under her hair)and her ear are not healed. She tends to scratch or rub them. I have put bactroban on the open sores and Vit E to her jaw where there may be a chance of scarring. Any other suggestions?
