It is common to have stabbing like pains for years after an open abdominal hysterectomy. It is caused by muscle's in the abd being pulled and rehealing after being cut. If this is a new problem it needs to be addressed with your MD's. Also, any open abd surg can, years later, lead to adhesions in the intestines. The symptoms of this are constipation and pain and when severe nausau/vomiting. Again, your clue is whether your symptoms are new or not. Anything new showing up needs to be addressed by MD.
