To whom it may concern, My mother had a CT scan last year after being disgnosed with polycythaemia rubra vera. Apart from searching for her elusive spleen, they were also looking for any cancerous growths. As soon as the dye was injected she suffered excrutiating pain. She continued to do so for another 10 days at the end of which she passed away suddenly with a pulmonary embolism. We had not been informed that there might be adverse reactions upon having a CT scan. Does anyone know if similar reactions have been reported to date?
