Kristy, your sister needs to call her doctor, on ocassion a stone coming from the liver can become lodged in the common bile duct. This needs immediate attention! There is a new technique that requires no incision or surgery. It is referred to ERGD, and can be preformed as an Outpatient procedure in most cases. She will have a tube placed down her throat while asleep and the surgeon will retrieve it by going into the stomach and up into the duct where the stone my be lodged, then he will remove it and open the duct to prevent future stones from lodging there.
