Sounds like you have at least one herniated disc, pressing on a nerve. Have you had an MRI or EMG or nerve conduction test? You need an MRI! If you do have a heriated disc and they recommend surgery, first check out drschiffer.com I had surgery last summer with him for a herniated disc in my neck (car accident also) and it helped somewhat. I think I waited too long for the surgery and already had nerve damage. So see a neurosurgeon, demand the proper tests (and get the insurance co. of the person who hit you, if it was thir fault, to pay for your medical care). Keep records of verything and get yourself a good lawyer. Good luck!
