Hi, It sure sounds a lot like many symptoms I've gone thu for many years UNTIL Celaic Disease was finally diagnosed and I began the diet required. Look this up on the web...there are many sites, also the "Friends of Celiac Disease". Irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, bloating,twice diverticulitis, etc. were among my symptoms, as were some others that didn't all make sense until my diagnosis was confirmed. It took me 13 years of progessively worse problems until now I have severe osteoporosis, chronic iron-deficiency anemia(for which I can only be treated for with IV infusions) as a result of the disease be overlooked by doctors for years because they believed, and most still do, that this disease is rare, but it IS not. Current research says that on average 1 out of 200 people have it! It destroys the small bowels ability to absorb nutrients if left misdiagnosed, and without the necessary diet change. This disease is where the protein gluten found in wheat, rye, oats, and barley is actually toxic to those with this disease. I am curious, have you had an endoscopy? If so, have they biopsied your small bowel? Altho mine was biopsied many times during 13 years, until I was the one that made mention of the malabsorption problem did my gastrenterologist even consider looking for it and send the last biopsy to pathologists at our Medical College!!! Lo and behold.....Celiac disease. Please let me know if this has been ruled out. The longer you wait to find out, the worse things may be for you. Please let me know.
