I had the same problem a few years ago and found that taking Metamucil each morning and night helped. Eventually I was able to reduce the Metamucil to once per day and then after a while I eliminated it entirely and replaced it with a simple high fiber diet [ lots of bran cereal . Also, I found that taking a glass of warm milk after each meal was helpful...put it in the microwave for 30 or 40 seconds, just to take the chill off. Peel off the skin of fruit such as apples and stay away from skin fruit that you can't peel, such as grapes and plums. Eat lots of apple sauce, the unsweetened kind. And stay away from fat and spicy foods. Hope this helps you.
