Dear people, My doctor recommended the radioiodine treatment for my hyperthyroid, but I've been doing some research on it and it seems like after you take it,you become hypothyroid after a while, and then you have to take thyroid supplements - FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! So instead of taking pills for the hypertyroid, I'd have to just take pills for the hypothyroid. I mean, why should I get this treated to begin with? And why should I get this radio iodine treatment if I'm just going to go hypo and have to take supplements for the rest of my life? Well, if anyone has had the radio iodine treatment and can tell me about it, or has any comments or info for me, please write back.
