I have had Thoracic Outlet Syndrome for the past 4 years. I had Nerve Decompression surgery for the left side 2 years ago, I just had my right side done 5 weeks ago. I know first hand what your daughter is going through except I didn't have a blood clot, but my doctor found that my Artery in my right side was severely compreesed by scar tissue and ahesions. I went back for my month post-op check-up and my doctor is quite concerned because not only am I not healing as well as I should on my right side, my left side has been acting up as well. On my left hand my thumb, forefinger, and pinky have been going numb and it still feels as though my elbow and wrist are being pulled apart, so I don't know where it's going to go from this point. I don't know where you live, I live in Walla Walla, Wa and I see a wonderful doctor, Dr. French in Colfax which is a 2 hour drive from where I live. My doctor has me on a variety of medication. Oxycontin, Lor-Tabs, Flexiril and Dilantin. I take the Dilantin before going to bed. I was told as well that once a person has the surgery done on one side within 1-5 years they will have to have the surgery done on the opposite side, which I know isn't encouraging. I am fighting Labor and Industries because their panel of doctors in Seattle told me that it was just tendonitis, they closed my claim and said that I could go back to work. My Attorney now has the medical evidence backing my claim. You should know as well that it takes up to 7 years for one side to totally heal.
