Hip pain/click = bursitis?

I too have the clicking in my left hip. I am 36 years old and have been involved in sports my whole life. A couple of years ago while doing leg lifts the clicking noise got very bad, I stupidly continued my exercise regimen and am suffering greatly today because of it. I didn't seek help until a year ago and am told I have bursitis. I can't do anything without pain. I have had 3 cortizone/steroid shots in hip and the pain would go away along with the clicking for a couple months. I am now undergoing ultrasound SE or ES with a physical therapist. The clicking seems to go away when the inflammation goes down and of course the opposite when it starts hurting and gets inflammed. The ortho dr. has told me this has to do with your bursa sacks that became filled and they protect the joints from rubbing together...so I guess its the bursa that is rubbing on the bone that is making this noise. It sounds confusing and it is. Good luck and be careful as exercise only aggrevates the problem. It is hard not to exercise and be active like I used to be...but I can't stand the reprocutions after exercise anymore. I am just praying that I can get this all under control soon.
