Severe Headaches

Hi, I read your story about your headaches. I know what you are going through. I have been diagnosed with FMS and RA and am 32 years old. I too had very bad headaches just like you described them. I couldn't even lift my head off the pillow without my head hurting and feeling so nausiated. I had them for about 3 weeks to a month. My primary doctor sent me to have x-rays done and in the mean time prescribed some pain medication as well as some sinus medication. My x-rays came out normal. He thought it might be sinus (due to the fact that I have sinuses every now and then). Then he sent me to have a CT scan done. Well, the scan came out normal as well. If you have never had a scan done before, it is not painful at all. As the matter of fact it kinda relaxed me. Well, the next step is my doctor is sending me to a neurologist. I have my appointment in a week. My doctor told me that my headaches could possibly be migraine headaches, but he was not sure. The reason for these tests is that he wanted to make sure my headaches were not being caused by something else and he wanted to rule everything else out. Well, I told my grandmother about these headaches and she suggested that I put mentholatum around the entrance of my nostrils and on my nose, on my temples and the back part of my neck close to my head. Well, I was willing to try anything due to pain medication not helping and any other prescribed medication I took and I had missed about three weeks of work. Well, I tried the remedy and I did this before I went to bed. Well, when I woke up the next morning I had a slight headache but not as bad as it was before. Then the next night, I did the same thing. Within, 2-3 days, my headache was gone. I don't know what caused my headaches, but I do know one thing-if I get these type of headaches again I will use the same remedy with the mentholatum. By the way, I had a follow-up with my doctor and I told him what I did and his response was, "well whatever works". I am not guaranteeing that this will work for you, however, if you are to the point where you just will try anything, please try it. I hope you get to feeling better because believe me I know what you are feeling. I wish you the best of health and I hope that all your tests come out normal. Good Luck!
