Blisters on finger

It sounds like you may have a case of Herpes. While Herpes is usually gotten "below the belt," it is also the virus responsible for "cold sores." I knew of a gal who had Herpes on her finger. There is medication for this, so if you feel an outbreak coming on, or have an outbreak, you can use Zovirax ointment. It is known to help stop an outbreak. This ointment speeds healing by 50%. Do not touch your eyes, especially, with the ailing finger. This is contagious but if you're careful and just wear a bandaid or finger cot at first, you'll be fine. But I would make an arrangement with your Dr. that when you have an outbreak, you can just stop by the office to get a culture to confirm what it is. (Knowing how sometimes it's a wait to see the Dr.). Do the blisters appear in clusters? The itching is a symptom of Herpes, also. There are also pills you can take...Valtrex, that will help speed healing by 50% and even may act as a preventative. I wish you luck.
