Tania, I too have taken xanax for years and it helped for awhile. .I developed high blood pressure and my dr. placed me on a beta blocker called inderal. the inderal has helped my anxiety better then anything i have ever used. i can go places i never dreamed i would go to again and i enjoy life like i used to.i didn't know that beta blockers were sometimes used to control anxiety disorders,until recently. maybe you would benifit by discussing this with your' dr.Hope this helps you in some way.
