My husband is 41 and has had this awful disease most of his life. He was told that the only medication that would help him was "hematin" but it is not available in the United States. The only medication he is using to ease the unbearable pain is morphine. Can anyone tell me if hematin is available in the US. Also if there is a doctor who specializes in this disease in New Jersey. If not, where can I find one. My 2 baby girls (4 & 1) get very upset to see their Daddy in so much pain. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
