I had an AAA repair in '97...it was 7cm. My doctor told me that knowing my family history and telling him about probably saved my life. My dad had one that ruptured and he died. I have an uncle who also had a repair...my dad's brother. If it ruptures, you have very serious problems. I have told my sons..all three of them, to have them checked on their annual physicals, particularly my oldest who is 50. It is after 50 where most are detected i believe.
