Our son has this and also reflux, he has been treated for more than a year, the doctor says he has to try all the Pepsid, the med. over the counter that supposedly corrects this problem, however, he is worse than ever, what he needs a good Gastro Doctor who can issue a RX for an bacteria infection and one that relieves his problems, like Aciphex 20mg. once per day. The IBS is devastating to anyone who has this, I'm not sure about the diagnosis and what the prognosis would be, however it seems that doctor's keep the patient within their scope until the patient is ready to die almost. What gives, I hope you are not having these problems.
