acute testicular pain

Michael Barncastle

Message 1 of 1

I am a 44 yr. old male who had exploratory operation in July of 2000.The surgery involved exploration of my lower abdomin and testical left side. The doctor said he repaired a hernia and re-did a 13 year old vasectomy that was attempting to grow back together.Upon waking up from the procedure I was in the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life.I have had a number of surgical procedures in my life including 2 hernia repairs and 2 knee surgeries.I was sent home several hours after the procedure and the pain persisted and I was addmited to the hospital within the same day and remained there for one week recieving 75 milagrams of demeral injections in the hip every 4 hrs.,20 milagrams of oxycontin every 12 hrs. and 30 milagrams of demeral IV push every hour. The testicular pain never subsided and 5 months later(Dec. 29th) the doctor performed another exploratory surgery and looked for another hernia and never explored my testical which was my primary pain region.January 13th I returned to the doctor and told him I was still in acute pain in my left testical. He then put me on an antibiotic do to the possibility of an infection that he said was lying dormant for many years.I have been taking the antibiotic for about 2 weeks and I am still in acute pain. Please advise me as to what I should do.I am desperate for answers.I have been taking narcotic pain meds. since my first surgery in July 2000.I fear that something is terribly wrong and need answers ASAP. Thanks Michael
