I have had clitoral pelvic pain for the last 3 years. I have been to several different doctors and none of them seem to have a solution or a diagnosis. The pain ranges from sharp to dull. I have it constantly. Now I am getting urinary tract infections on top of that & they are making this pain worse. I have taken different drugs for the UTIs, but the past one that I had, the urine culture came back negative. My doctor still prescribed an antibiotic, which I'm loathe to take. I'm wondering if I should see a urologist. Is there anyone out there who has had or does have a very sharp pain in their clitoral region, or knows anything about recurrent UTIs? Also is interstitial cystitis characterized by negative urine cultures? Thank You!
