My nephew's pediatrician detected what she thought might be a heart murmur during his recent two-month exam. She suggested that the parents wait until his next two-month visit to check this again, and if it appears, she would then refer them to a pediatric cardiologist. My sister is very concerned about waiting two more months. The baby has also appeared to have some difficulty breathing, and my sister assumed that it was due to a head cold. Should she wait two months, as suggested by the pediatrician, or visit a pediatric cardiologist asap?
