You didn't state your mother's age, whether she has high blood pressure, high cholesterol level and/or high triglyceride level; is she able to have angioplasty to open the artery; and is she currently taking a blood thinner, such as coumadin and coated aspirin? All of the above conditions may have contributed to the formation of/or build up of plaque in her arteries. It will be difficult to get answers to your questions without these details.
