My son was 12 (3 years ago) when we discovered a mass on his head - he was found to have a large tumor on his thyroid and a metastatic tumor on his skull. He was diagnosed with Follicular Thyroid Carcinoma. Surgery was immediate. I assume you have already passed this point. He takes synthroid, has lots of rechecks, and is very healthy. I live in Columbus, Ohio. Children's Hospital was not able to treat(as it is considered an adult cancer), thus he was treated at Ohio State University's James Cancer Hospital and received wonderful treatment.
