I, too, have been diagnosed with this disease also called bartonella and am taking doxycycline. I may be on it for several months. I also have the pain you're talking about and I call it the 'herks'. There's a longer name but I don't know how to spell it. Hang in there, they say it gets worse before it gets better. I've probably had this disease for two decades and never new it~
