Hi: I read your memo with interest on Healthlink. I have a rash on right side of back in belt area but pain is on right side of abdomen - very severe which no painkiller has much effect. Everything I have read indicates that the pain should be under or around the rash site - it worries me that my pain is elsewhere. Could this be internal shingles? My Dr. has diagnosed shingles and did not seem surprised that the pain was elsewhere other than the rash site.
