How sad that you have had this trouble. I haven't had a closed cervix but have had over 200 pap smears. I'm 27 years old. Not one has returned back with an Ok result. Always inconclusive, abnormal etc.. I've never been told even what we're dealing with. I've been poked and prodded more times than I can remember. On one occasion I had my cervix opened for a deeper biopsy. I had no pain relief either. In fact I didn't know what she was doing until she had begun it. The Dr eluded it was just a normal weekly F_cking run of the mill pap smear. I was 18yrs old at the time. I couldn't drive home. I haven't had any children yet either!!!! Still!!!!!! It hurt. Let me tell all you out there. To his day I cannot bring myslef for another 'smear'. Its over three years since I've had one and I ignore my 6mthly reminders from the cevical society here in Australia. Bastards have no industry standard to speak of. So.. Closed, Open, There or Not. I don't care. I'd rather be in control of my buthering business. Shame on you GP's for thinking you're something your not! I am truely oppressed at all western form of diagnosis. Shame! Thinking your perfect bodies are only flawed with disease. How wrong! How about a not so cohesive system needing only observation for a harmless alternative! Shame!
