Marilyn, I'm so sorry for what your son and you are going through. We had a daughter stillborn to cmv and since then I have spent the last four yrs researching cmv and passing on information and being a shoulder to cryon for anyone effected by cmv. Unfortunatly there are alot of doctors who have not come across cmv and therefore know very little. The thing I have found scares most people is the fact it is most oftenassociated with HIV but it is not the case that all are related. Over 85% of people will have cmv but most are never effected, once you have cmv you have it for life and in those that it does have an effect there can be flare ups at any time. The most common complaint I have found people have with cmv is chronic fatigue and muscle aches. If I can be of any help or you have any questions then please let me know.
