Dear Marcy dolphin, I am a Chinese young father with a 6 months old baby boy, who was diagnosed with achondroplasia. When doctor told me that this litle lovly boy can never be as tall as a normal person, I was very sad with great pain in heart. I can not image how this boy manage to suffer not only disease pain in his life but also being teased by others as a dwarf. Is it possible that the newest advanced medical science can manage to cure this disease by mending the mutated gene and finally made the patient grow to the normal height? I very much need help from everybody who better knows this terrible disease. I also hope can discuss with you about the care we should pay to the baby patient. Any reply from you will be appreciated.
