Marlene - I know that your message was posted so long ago and I hope that your granddaughter has gotten help for her pancreatitis and alcoholism. I'm a recovering alcoholic and I had pancreatitis. It's definitely caused by the alcoholism in your granddaughters case. I'm afraid she will have continued bouts of this and perhaps develop cirrhosis of the liver unless she stops drinking. Obviously she's drinking much more then wine coolers. The best advice I can give you is for you and her family to go to Alanon or perhaps have an intervention with her. There's really nothing more you can do for her unless she admits she has a problem. I will keep her in my prayers. God Bless!
