My tinnitus started shortly after a deep neck massage which was prescribed treatment for hand and neck pain. That was Jan 19 2000 and it hasn't stopped since! I've been to specialists from the city to upstate and had many tests, CT's, MRI's, blood tests and hearing tests. I found out that I'm not a candidate for maskers nor does any medication that was prescribed help. I am totally consumed by this horrible loud noise that is in both ears non stop all day and night. I have a sound machine that I use to help me fall asleep. I've been to chiropractors, ent's, MD's, orthopedic specialists, neurologists, dentists (to investigate TMJ), you name it. I even joined the American Tinnitus Association. There are many people who are associated that are willing to "talk" and share their stories and advice. Between that and the fact that somehow I manage to stay working,it gives me something else to focus on even though lately, it's been really difficult because it seems like it's getting louder. This is a terrible condition that cannot be understood by anyone unless they have it themselves and even then, so far there's no cure. I guess the power of prayer and the love of my family is what keeps me hanging in there until some miracle or cure happens! Good luck.
