Last year my 31 year old brother was diagnosed with Degenerative Lung Disease. He also has severe scoliosis, only one kidney, and sleep apia among other things. We nearly lost him last July because his body was retaining carbon monoxide and hid saturdated oxygen level was 74 as compared to 98 for normal. Praise God he is still with us. He has a trach & attaches to some sort of breathing machine every night. Now he again is showing signs of sleep apia and is going for his second sleep study this week. My family is getting scared that this time he might not make it. The bottom line is even after talking to his doctor we still don't really know what Degeneratie Lung Disease is, what causes it, and how to treat it or cure it. I've searched the internet and found NOTHING! Please help if you have any information.
