I suffered closed head trauma due to a car accident. Many spots in my memory are gone, strange as it seems, I can remember many things as a young girl, but have no memory of my son going to Kindergarden. It has been about 7 years since the accident, still suffering from short term memory loss. I have been told by several MD's, after one year the brain is as healed as it will get. After that you learn coping skills, and make the best of it. I wish your friend luck, tell him he is not alone.
