HAIRLOSS IN HYPOTHYROIDISM

I've had it for 6 or 7 years, and I think you need to double check your TSH score. I think it should be between .5 and 5.0 for "normal" and that 14 would indicate that you need more medication. There is a good site at www.thyroid-info.com - it very much advocates a woman's need to take control of her own care and I am going to do just that next week! Some of the research seems to show that people FEEL better with TSH = 1 to 2. I am currently at 4.25 and feel dreadful. have lost all my body hair altho thankfully not my head - yet.... I am going to see why my doc will not increase my dosage - currently .1 mg daily. Even the American Academy of Clinical Endocrinologists (www.aace.com) now says that untreated people with TSH of 3-5 show have further evaluation for hypo-thyroidism, and mine is that high with meds. Good luck. I think we have one of those "women's diseases" that the medical community doesn't take very seriously. Winslow
