Birth Control Pills and Pregnancy

These days, The Pill is very safe and contains much less hormones than it did just a few years ago. A woman can become pregnant the very next month after discontinuing her BCP's and not worry about problems with the fetus. The one thing to remember though, is that for seven years these pills have been tricking your body into thinking it was pregnant, so it may take a bit longer for things to "take". Every woman is different and every pregnancy is different. It took me about 10 months before I became pregnant after being on the pill for only two years. Make sure you discuss any problems with your ob/gyn, and please remember to take your folic acid. Prenatal vitamins are also a good idea to begin even if you are just trying. The healthier you are physically and mentally, the better for you and the baby....GOOD LUCK!!!!
