Dear Kathie, I read your message about leiomyosarcoma. In January 2002 my doctor felt a mass on my right ovary. I had an ultrasound that confirmed this mass. I was sent to gyn and she planned to remove my ovaries (I had a hysterectomy in 1975) and requested that I have a ct scan. The scan showed a mass on my right kidney and I was thought to have renal cell carcinoma. In March my ovaries were removed. The mass was benign. My right kidney was removed. The diagnosis - leiomyosarcoma. I have had a bone scan and a lung scan and both are normal. I will be having these scans every 6 months for 5 years. I feel blessed that this was found before I had symptoms of any disease. I just wish I knew more about it. I will keep you in my prayers and would like to know about your progress. Gwen
