I was diagnosed with RMSF in 1995, I went for 5 weeks without being treated, I suffer from shakes and I am physically exhausted easily, I still have joint pain and suffer from memory loss, I have very bad short term memory and before the disease I had a photographic memory. There is no long term information because they never studied anyone who had the disease for any length of time. I have been trying for years to find this out. I was never told not to give blood, I still give blood...I hope that is not a bad thing. My immune system now is very poor, it seems I catch everything. Does anyone else have symptons like these. I am 30 years old and I wonder what the rest of my life will be like in the future knowing what I am suffering from now. If anyone finds out anything about long term effects of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever let me know. I was 25 when I got the disease and the department of infectious disease said it was a miracle that I lived, after going untreated for so long.
