I would go for it and ASAP if you don't try you might always regret it and at 44 you don't have time to waste. Make sure your Dr is Board Certified . It can make ALL the difference... I tried this some yrs ago and was unsucessful..But I had it done in Hopewell, Va...at John Randolph hospital. I think the man is dead now that did it, but I later found that he was really just a general practioner that limited his practice to gyn. I talked to him about how I had read that by using the high power microscope the chances were improved (rather than the magnifying loops) Just before I was put to sleep in the OR I asked where the microscope was...the anesteologist looked at me funny...and said, oh, I don't know and quickly put me under...Well the hospital didn't even own one..but it was nearly a yr before I found that out.. Oh, and the guy putting me out was also just a general practioner, who also did this on the side..he had a office in town seeing patients for colds, etc..luckly I didn't have a problem there..Two days after the surgery , the dr . Picked out my stitches...THIS WAS WAY TOO EARLY>>>they came open in spots drained..I had an awful time getting them to heal...Had to go to ER once, because of it...then they sent me to the guy who put me to sleep, to see about them not healing...because the dr doing the surgery was out of town...and I was told that several Drs. were taking them out early and taping to see if they could get a patient without a scar...well they should see my scar from what they did.....Also my dr. Never even did a pap test before he did the surgery...he did no fertility test...he didn't even want to check me and see me for surgical check up a few weeks later...when I called his office to see about when I was supposed to be checked after surgery,,I was asked, " Are you doing ok?" and when I said yes,,,except for the stitches not healing...they said,,,well, then the stitches take time...so youre fine...you don't need to be seen... TALK ABOUT QUACKS...Hope that John Randolph HOspital in Hopewell, VA has tighter rules now than they did some 13 or 14 yrs ago...
