I had a knee operation 2 years and got a staph infect in which I almost died 3 times. since then I had three knee replacements and the staph did not go away completely. My wound is know open (above my knee to the lower part of the thigh). My doctor has infomed me that my leg must be amputated, because the wound is not closing up. Please adise what I should do and what can be done to save my leg. If you know of any specialist in this area I would greatly appreciate it.
