I have developed ringing in my ears this past year. I have been reading a lot about the psychological aspect of Tinnitus. The more stressed and upset one is about it, the louder the noise and the symptoms are worse. I have had to accept that I have it and I basically try to forget about it and I have been able to "tune it out" most of the time and not think about it. Sometimes I can go a whole day and not think about it even though it is always there and at night when it is quiet, it does bother me, but then I can try to forget it and many times it works and I can become unaware of it. Meditation or biofeedback might help a person attain an unaware state if it seems impossible to do.
