Dimentia is only a symptom of something else. It is not a disease by itself. Alzheimers, Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease, and some others will give those symptoms. I would suggest that you get a neurologist that has has some experience with these two diseases to examine your father. There are many diseases it could be.
