Adverse affects to Heatitis B Vaccine

Hi there, i also had flu like symptoms after my 1st hepatitis B shot...i was constantly sick for about 3 months. i was also volunteering in an emergency room so i am not sure if that was the cause or if it was the vaccine...probably a combination of both. anyway, about a week after the vaccine i had some blood testing done and had a very elevated ESR. It was 55 and as you probably know it should be 20 or below..i was very nervous because i didn't know what was causing it...about 8 weeks later i repeated the sed rate test and it came back completely normal..my level was 9. i will never really know what caused that original high result...the hep shot was one of the things i suspected and after reading your letter i am wondering if there is an association. i just had my 2nd hep shot and i feel fine...i guess that is because my body is not shocked by the vaccine due to the first shot...anyway, i hope that you feel better...feel free to email me if you have any other questions. by the way, you will definitely want to repeat the ESR in about a month ..make sure you do it before your second hep b shot. take care, Kristin
