Hi, Make sure you get an MRI of your spine. I also had pain just under my shoulder blades. At times it was a burning pain and affected my breathing. MRI showed a thorasic arachnoid cyst that is very rare. It took four doctors before I found someone that listened to my whole story and thought it was odd to have upper back pain and looked into it further. I had the cyst fluid removed however since I took so long to find it, my spinal cord had gotten used to being displaced and the removal has not lessened my pain.
