Along with my degenerative disk disease, I have muscle spasms too. Soma is a great muscle relaxant. You want to be careful when you first take it as it causes memory problems until you get used to it. About an hour after it is in my system, I am able to walk with much less pain. I also take pain meds with it, but I would have to be knocked unconscious before I would go back into surgery, I just got worse and worse after the second one, although the doc I had was inept. I've found out he has 3 malpractice suits going at present. So again, be certain to get all the info you can on the surgeon if you go that way. Thanks, Jeanne
