High functioning autism is typically called PDD by a doctor and Autism by the school because thats what they have to call it.(Check the PDR) These labels will get your child the services and the evaluations he/she needs. If you really want to do something constructive get your child a ABR (Central Auditory Proccessing test) and independent outside speech evaluations. If your child has sensitivity issues in hearing, sound, eating like texture problems etc, breathing, reflux, sleep disorder, headaches or anything seizure like (even undiagnosed) get him an MRI. Keggy
