My husband completely gave up on his first CPAP trial but he tried again six months later with a different type mask and has done well for a number of years. He likes the gold gel mask by Respironics. I understand their new blue gel mask can be immersed in hot water and placed on the face to cool and conform to the shape of the face. They come in many sizes including narrows. It is important to clean the face with alcohol prior to using the mask each night to avoid mask deterioration. The correct mask fit is essential. My husband also takes 1mg. of Klonopin each night for leg jerks.
