I had thyroid cancer and had my thyroid removed too. I'm six weeks post op and just had my Radio Iodine Treatment...it was no big deal. The only side effects I had was a little nausea and was really tired for a couple of days. The worst part is being off the thyroid replacement medication, it makes you feel pretty terrible. The I131 that I had was a drink, it tasted like stale water, not too bad! Good luck! Don't sweat it...the worst is over!!!
