A friend of mine has been diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in her right leg (calf). She now takes coumadin everyday. She has her blood monitored regularly. Before this happened to her, we were running partners and I also helped train her with lifting weights. Now thatt this has happened, she only walks and does some upper body weights. She can't get any straight answers from her doctors about exercise, only to do it in moderation. Does anyone have any information on thrombosis patients and jogging and/or weight training in the lower body? She is otherwise a very fit and active person. This condition was caused by a clotting factor in her genes.
