Meniere's and sudden hearing loss

donna

Message 3 of 4 Previous Next

Hi Peggy, I was diagnoised with meniere's 8 years ago. I was 32 years old then. I started getting distorted hearing in the left ear for about 4 days and than lost some of the hearing in the left ear which spread into the right ear for a short time. I was hearing this horrible vibration in the left ear for about 2 weeks. I was wearing headphones then because sound made it worse. After 2 weeks I got my hearing back but suffered for 3 months with tinitis and hearing distortion, echoes, talking with water in ear and other stange things. Then I got better. In April of 2000 I got it back rather suddenly after I had just found out I was pregnant. I had a miscarriage. It's going on three and a half months that I have the same symptoms again but more severe. I'm always afraid to wake up in the morning thinking my hearing will be down and what the day will bring. I do not get dizzy, never really have. I have never lost my hearing completely. My hearing does fluctuate. I hate it. This disease has really affected my life and my thinking. Are you taking any medication? I am taking pavabid and a water pill. Would love to hear from you again. Sincerely, Donna
