Hi, i to have severe dysplasia. I have had pap tests done every year almost to the the month. I just went to a new doctor, and was told i have severe dysplasia. I was told it took 84 months to grow where it is. I was extremely upset and had alot of questions. I had a colposcopy done, and i am going for lazer treatment in a couple of weeks. My question is, from what i've read,you guys have said you had a general before the surgery??? My doctor said it would be done right in the clinic. A friend also said they would freeze it with a needle. I'm afraid of the pain. I didn't even think it would hurt at first. Now i'm wondering why they wouldn't put me out also. To answer the question on the Leep procedure. From what i've read, it is a loop that is inserted, and burns the abnormal tissue off. Does anyone know if Lazer is painful during the procedure, or just after. thank-you for any info.
