Hi, my 78 year old father also has an atonic bladder. He cannot urinate on his own either. However, my father has diabetes. It has also affected his mind and he would not be able to correspond with your father. He has had this problem for several years now. My mother caths him every morning and evening. He occaisionally gets a bladder infection. The last one caused blood poisoning sending him to the hospital and it took him a long time to recover. If I can be of help, please reply.
