This is a loaded question. Unfortunately, most doctors who are not educated in alternative or medicine other than typical western medicine will not understand that there is such a thing as hypoglycemia without diabetes. This is unfortunate because they will not be able to fully understand or help you w/out this knowledge. Be sure your levels of sugar are high before you take glucophage for diabetes otherwise you will become severely hypoglycemic. 99 is a normal # of most people, 66 is borderline but 49 is quite low. You should invest (reimbursed by some insurance co's) in an accucheck or other glucose monitor for home use. Also, look into a doctor who has an understanding that hypoglycemia can exist in & of itself w/out diabetes and find out for sure if you have diabetes. You may need an adjustment or change in your meds. Consult a nutritionist (preferrably one with an open mind and holistic knowledge) and a physician skilled in natural as well as conventional medicine. And please know that you are not alone. There are tons of people with this same frustrating situation-including myself. Good Luck!
