Hello, I'm so sorry about your husband. I'm 46 years old and for years my GP who happens to be an oncologist/hemotologist said my iron and ferritin levels weren't high enough to get worried. A visit to a cardiologist was a stroke of luck this April. He told me how important it was to check it out BEFORE I had symptoms and recommended the gene test and also an MRI of the liver. Well wasn't everyone surprised when both tests came back positive. I'm so greatful that it's been caught early -- and amazed at how nonchalant alot of doctors are. I'm now being phlebotimized every other week. Thank you for listening. Guess I'm looking for an understanding person.
